I have been involved with computers for some 25 years (since the days of BBC Micros) through Amstrad to the whole gamut of Microsoft from Windows 3.8 (ugh !) to 95 and 98 ;'Millenium' and XP to the dreaded 'Vista' and on to 'WIndows7'. I find the whole process of upgrading or changing to anything different is tantamount to one horrendous nightmare. All of the increasing demands of more complex passwords, user names, verification codes et al (not to mention the problems of re-configuration and seemingly endless 'conflicts' ) could, at times, make one lose the will to live !!! Matters are made worse, after time spent going around cyberspace, only to be told, quite rudely (with the infamous 'red letter message)' that your password or verification ,or whatever, is invalid - and to start all over again ! Invariably, there is no advice as to how to ovecome these difficulties and what limited 'help' there is takes the form of, sometimes pages, of hi-tech 'gobbledygook' that nobody without a Phd in Computer Science can understand ! I wonder if I am the only extermely busy person who does not wish to play the mindless games that these sad Geeks seem to think we have time for - calculated to make one want to smash the computer !
